Trick-or-Treat

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Rose wanted to stop by Mommy's work to go trick or treating...so we did. Instead of getting candy she got a pop-up picture book from Tammy C and a stuffed pumpkin from Sarah. You guys are so nice - THANK YOU!

Trick or Treating with my buddy Christopher Howard. He was Buzz Light Year.

Carving Pumpkins

We took Rose to the pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins, but when we got there, they didn't have many left, so we didn't purchase our pumpkins there, Andy picked some up from the grocery store. For "Family Night" one Tuesday we carved our pumpkins.

Portland Marathon Oct. 7th

On Sunday, October 7th, I walked the Portland Marathon for the second time. I walked the marathon 3 years ago, then it was my first marathon. At that time I finished the marathon in 6 hrs: 5 min: 12 seconds. 3 years later (this year) after having a baby and a summer of training, I finished my second marathon on Oct 7th in 6 hrs: 9 mins: 18 seconds, an average pace of 14:06 min/mile. I was very pleased with my time, as I was expecting to finish in 6 hrs; 30 min, I finished 21 mins ahead of my expected time. Even though I was only 4 mins slower this year than three years ago, it did take me a little longer to recoup from the race, but I still had a good time and of course - finished!

Ryan's 15th Birthday

Today is Ryan's 15th birthday, but the family celebration happened over the weekend. On Saturday, Ryan celebrated with his mom and family, and Sunday we celebrated with our side of the family. It was quite a celebration. It was actually a double birthday, as we celebrated Ryan's 15th birthday, and his cousin Kayla's 2nd birthday. Dave and Sharon and the girls came down to Portland one last time before they move to London, England.

Here is the Spiderman cake Renee made and decorated for Ryan's brithday. The decorating classes paid off.

Crazy Hats

I bought a new rain hat this past summer, have to get ready for the rainy winter season. Rose found the hat and thought she was something special wearing the pink hat. Silly Girl!

On our trip to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Rose found Mr. Potato Head's hat, and had to try it on.

College Bound

Saturday, Sept. 17th we loaded up the car and headed down to Corvallis, OR, home of Oregon State University - Go Beavers!

Kevin will be major in Engineering, but is also taking Spanish classes. He took Advanced Level Spanish in High School, so he will start out with a Jr. Level class in Spanish. Way to shave off two years!

For the next year, Kevin's new home will be Wilson Hall on campus.

OSU watch out, these three guys are now on campus. The party is just beginning.

Weekend at the Beach

Aug. 24-27th, Rose and I spent the weekend in Manzanita, OR with Grandma and Grandpa Goltz (my parents) and Rosie's cousins Darian, Anthony, and Choele. Our dear friends Evan and Sue let us rent their beach house for the weekend. The kids spent hours on the beach, playing in the sand and flying kites. It was cloudy and a little chilly on Saturday, so we spent the afternoon at the pool. We also celebrated Anthony's 7th birthday with birthday cake decorated in camoflage....it was hard to see the cake we were eating. (ha!ha!) On Sunday, we headed up to Seaside where Rosie and Anthony took a ride on the carosal and Grandpa, Darian, Anthony, and Choele went on the bumper cars. We had a great time at the beach with family.

Portland Rose Gardens

Friday, August 10th, Andy, Ryan, Rose, and myself took a quick trip to the Rose Gardens. The rose are still in bloom and beautiful. Rose had fun touching and smelling the Roses. Ryan didn't want to go at first, but he was glad to get out of the house. The weather was wonderful and it was a fun, relaxing activity to do in the afternoon on a sunny day in Portland.

Fun in the Sun!

On Wed. July 25th, the weather was nice so I asked Mommy if we could go outside and play. She thought it was a great idea....so I invited my friends, Hannah and Becca, to come over and play with me. Mommy set up the water table and the pool. It was a going to be a good day to be playing in the water. It's one of my favorite things to do, esp. playing with Henry's (our dog) water dish in the house.

Mommy put my bathing suit on and put my hair in pig tails...it looks so cute...I just couldn't stop smiling.

Here's another picture of me playing with the water table.

Mommy got creative with this picture....I'm playing with my friends, Becca and Hannah.

Becca and Hannah then decided to have a water fight. It was so funny watching them get each other soaking wet. I can't wait until I can join in the fun.
